SIS - Sociedade Irmãos Simões was founded by Joaquim Simoes Simoes Costa in the early '50s. had two plants in Sangalhos and Arcos. In 1964, Aulácio Almeida (OSP - Organization Sachs Portugal, J. Simões Costa), purchase the SIS - Sociedade Irmãos Simões (producers of their own brand Cruzador and of the assemblies of other brands: OSP, Rex, Tansini, etc..), Changing the name for SIS - Veículos Motorizados, Lda. started to use the name SIS Sachs. Later, in 1971, merged the two into one facility, located in Malaposta, Anadia. The connection to the German company Sachs & Fitchel began shortly after the founding of SIS, with the granting of the German production of these engines in Portugal. It produced some of the most emblematic national models.
